The Pyramid of Hawara, located to the south east of Fayoum city. built during the reign of Amenemhet III. the photo was taken from the mortuary temple that originally stood adjacent to this pyramid. It is believed to have formed the basis of the complex of buildings with galleries and courtyards called a "labyrinth" by Herodotus.
